Performance in Rio de Janeiro

I was thrilled to be the special guest at the Prosper Bank/Armazem Digital weekly jazz series, produced by Carol Paris. I got to sing and play with a great band of Rio jazz regulars, as well as being joined on a few tunes by Vanderlei and our dear friend Mark Lambert. We had a blast! (pictures coming soon . . .)

Sold-out show at Cornelia Street Café

Deepest thanks to all our fans who came out to Cornelia St. last night!  We had a sold-out show and a line of people waiting outside! I apologize to all who did not get in and hope to see you at another show soon!

Thanks again,

Susan

Recording to benefit Japanese tsunami victims

I was honored to participate in the recording of "One Word", by Japanese guitar great Yoshiaki Masuo, who wrote and recorded the song to raise funds for the victims of the Japanese tsunami.  A tremendous turnout of New York City jazz musicians, engineers and photographers participated in the recording at Avatar Studios.  Here's the lineup: Yoshiaki Masuo (g, vo, keyb), Tony Marino (b), Marko Marcinko (ds, perc), Mark Soskin (p), Tim Ries (ts, ss), Bill O'Connell (p), Bob Albanese (pianica), Clifton Anderson (tb), Ben Kraef (ts),  Makoto Ozone (org), Shiro Sadamura (el-vln), Bob Mover (as), Tadataka Unno (p), Soren Moller (org), Tōru Dodo (p), Lew Soloff (tp), Susan Pereira (chorus vo), Carol Moore (chorus), Gino Sitson (chorus), Dennis Day (chorus), Bill Mays (p, cello arrangement), Alisa Horn (cello), Kei Akagi (p, keyb), Phil Woods (as), The Twolips (background vo, chorus)

JAZZMANDU 2009

WOW! Performing at Jazzmandu 2009 with Trio Urbano was an incredible experience! We met fantastic musicians from all over the world and played at wonderful venues. The most magical performance was the Jazz in Patan show--a musical fusion in the best sense of the word, held in the courtyard of a museum on Patan's Durbar Square. All the Jazzmandu musicians joined forces with local Nepali musicians for an unforgettable evening. Nepal and its people are amazing!

Second mention in MUG
