JAZZMANDU 2009 - October 16, 2009

WOW! Performing at Jazzmandu 2009 with Trio Urbano was an incredible experience! We met fantastic musicians from all over the world and played at wonderful venues. The most magical performance was the Jazz in Patan show--a musical fusion in the best sense of the word, held in the courtyard of a museum on Patan's Durbar Square. All the Jazzmandu musicians joined forces with local Nepali musicians for an unforgettable evening. Nepal and its people are amazing!

Rave review from All About Jazz - September 25, 2007

Dr. Judith Schlesinger of All About Jazz had this to say about Tudo Azul:

" . . . Pereira is an exceptionally gifted musician who sings with grace and perfect pitch, plays with passion and flair, and writes beautifully . . . Tudo Azul (All Blue) refers to the Brazilian saying that “everything’s cool,” and it’s a perfect title for a CD full of sunshine and irresistible grooves . . . a wonderful release, beautifully played and produced, and an absolute must-have for fans of Brazilian jazz."

Four-star review from All Music Guide - August 31, 2007

Tudo Azul was given four stars by Ken Dryden of All Music Guide. Here's some of what he had to say:

"With the incredible output of jazz CDs by new artists in the first decade of the 21st century, it is a challenge for someone to stand out with a debut recording. But vocalist/pianist/composer Susan Pereira, gifted with a beautiful voice, terrific keyboard chops and a knack for arranging, is the exception to the rule . . . Highly recommended!
